My youngest son just turned two in February. For some reason I had the most difficult time figuring out what to get him for his birthday. How could figuring out even the top 10 gifts for a 2 year old boy be that difficult?! Seeing as I had such a difficult time figuring it out I figured I’d save you the trouble of spending hours searching every possible store that could possibly sell a gift for a 2-year-old.
Here are your Top 10 Gifts For A 2-Year-Old Boy!
Although I didn’t get this specifically for my youngest sons 2nd birthday I did get this for my oldest son when he turned 2. It has been played with every day for the past two years! Both boys love it (especially shutting each other in the oven… haha!). We have this Kidcraft Modern Espresso Kitchen Set. However, if I could do it again, I would go with the one I linked above. I LOVE the modern look, durability, and functions of our current one, but wish it had more storage space for food and dishes/utensils. I would definitely, definitely stress getting a wooden kitchen. They will take the abuse of children much better than a plastic one.
Melissa and Doug play food is the best! Too often play food is hollow plastic. Children aren’t always the best pretend eaters. So, having something that isn’t going to be bitten until it’s flat is imperative! I love that they’re wooden and pretty much indestructible! We also have this Melissa & Doug cookie set.
My son has the Fisher Price Farm and love it. It is a great way for them to learn animal names and noises through play. He LOVES to open and close it, drop animal down the silo, and open and close the gates.
We are a family that loves Legos. They are a great investment; they’ll play with them for years! My 4-year-old still loves to play with them. There are so many different choices! If you can only pick one thing out of this list of Top 10 Gifts for a 2-year-old boy, I would definitely say this is the one I would suggest the most.
I have yet to meet a 2-year-old who doesn’t love Mickey Mouse. This is yet another toy that will get years of use. Two year olds love to open and close doors, shoot things across the room, and let Mickey go on a ride in the hot air balloon.
Both of my boys have been lovers of all things music. From a young age they took interest in playing (I use that word in the most literal way… haha) guitar. This is the guitar we have. It has held up well through a lot of not very gentle play over the years!
My youngest son would color all day long if I let him. Along with that comes him, of course, wanting to be just like big brother and use all of the super mess art supplies: paint, markers, stamps, etc. These Mess Free art supplies by Crayola are the best of both worlds! He is able to be a “big boy,” but not at the expense of my house! It also makes it so I’m able to give him art supplies without having to hover. I can go do the dishes or tidy up without having to worry that he’s coloring all over himself, the table, his art desk, or the cat!
There are so many train tables out there. Huge one, ones with 89454958 parts to get lost, really expensive ones, etc. This is the one we have. I love it due to the fact that it doesn’t have a TON of parts. It also comes with a little bin to put all of the parts in to, which is definitely a plus! It’s also quite small as far as train tables go. So, it you’re looking to find a great train table that won’t take up a ton of room, this one would be great! It’s also very sturdy/durable. It gets stood on nearly daily and hasn’t as much as cracked!
Honestly, this should have been farther up on the list. Llama llama books have been a favorite for both of my boys at this age. There isn’t a night that goes by that my 2-year-old isn’t asking for “Llama llama” before bed. My only complaint is that there aren’t more choices for board books!
This is definitely a favorite around here! Every kid who has ever been to this house has fought over who gets to ride in the car. My 4-year-old still stuffs himself into it and loves every second of it. So, so worth it!
